 My Services

Assessments for literacy-related difficulties demand a comprehensive approach, ensuring a thorough evaluation of your child from various angles. This holistic process typically begins with conversations with both the child and their parents, providing essential insights. Subsequently, I engage with the child's teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to gather a deeper understanding of their performance and experiences within the school environment.

This groundwork leads to a full diagnostic assessment, consolidating all gathered information. The outcome is a comprehensive report detailing the individual's strengths and weaknesses, offering valuable insights and tailored recommendations for their future progress and support.

Diagnostic Assessment

An assessment involves the completion of six tests looking into underlying cognitive ability, reading and comprehension, writing and spelling, phonological and processing skills, and memory. Testing takes 2.5-3.5h in the comfort of your home or in my practise. A consent form is signed by the parents before the assessment commences. Parents are also asked to fill out a questionnaire and the Visual Difficulties Screening.
